Privacy Policy
Effective date: 14 August 2026
Digital PavtiBook (“we”, “us”, “our”) is operated by Kunal P Kadam. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you use our website and app (the “Service”), why we collect it, how it is used, and the choices you have. By using the Service you agree to the practices described here.
1. Who this applies to
The Service is used by three kinds of people: organisations (temples, trusts, NGOs, festival mandals) that sign up to issue receipts, collectors who record donations on behalf of an organisation, and donors who receive a receipt or look one up. This policy covers all three.
2. Information we collect
Depending on how you use the Service, we collect:
- Account information: name, email address, phone number, and organisation details (name, registration details if provided, address, UPI/bank ID for receipts) collected when an organisation or collector signs in with Google or completes profile setup.
- Donation records: donor name, phone number, donation amount, payment mode, and any note entered by the collector at the time of collection. This information is provided to us by the organisation/collector, not by the donor directly, and is used solely to generate and display the donation receipt.
- Device and usage information: basic technical data such as browser type, device type, and error logs, used to keep the Service working and to diagnose bugs. We do not use third-party advertising trackers.
- Payment information (where applicable): if you make a payment through the Service (for example, subscribing to a paid plan), the payment is processed by our payment gateway partner. We do not store your card, UPI PIN, or net-banking credentials on our own servers — that data is handled entirely by the payment processor under its own security standards.
3. How we use your information
- To create and manage organisation/collector accounts and authenticate sign-ins.
- To generate, display, and allow lookup of donation receipts.
- To maintain an audit trail of who created, edited, or cancelled a record — this exists to protect organisations and donors from fraud and record-tampering, and is a core part of how the Service works.
- To respond to support queries and grievances.
- To detect, prevent, and investigate misuse, fraud, or security issues.
- To improve the reliability and usability of the Service.
We do not sell your personal information to anyone, for any reason.
4. Who we share information with
We use a small number of service providers to run the Service, and we share only what each of them needs to do their job:
- Google Firebase / Google Cloud — hosts our database, handles sign-in, and stores files. Data is stored in Google Cloud infrastructure.
- Payment processor (Razorpay) — processes any payments made through the Service, where enabled.
- Email/communication providers — used to receive enquiries sent through our contact form and to send account-related notifications.
We do not share donor or donation information with any party outside the organisation the donation was made to, except where required by law.
5. How long we keep information
Donation records and their audit trail are retained for as long as the organisation’s account is active, because they are financial records an organisation may need for its own accounting or compliance purposes. If an organisation asks us to close its account, we remove its operational data but retain the audit log of that closure, since a tamper-evident history is the entire point of the audit trail.
6. Your rights and choices
- You can ask us what personal information we hold about you.
- You can ask us to correct inaccurate information.
- You can ask us to delete your account information, subject to the retention needs described above (for example, financial/audit records that an organisation is legally expected to keep).
- You can withdraw consent to be contacted for support/marketing at any time.
To exercise any of these, contact us at digitalpavtibook@gmail.com.
7. Security
We use industry-standard measures to protect your information, including encrypted connections (HTTPS), access-control rules that restrict who can read or write which records, and server-side validation of financial data. No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security, but we take reasonable steps appropriate to the sensitivity of the data involved.
8. Children’s privacy
The Service is intended for use by adults operating or collecting on behalf of an organisation. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
9. Cookies and local storage
The Service uses browser storage (not third-party tracking cookies) to keep you signed in and to allow the app to work offline. This data stays on your device and is used only to operate the Service.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the effective date above. Continued use of the Service after a change means you accept the updated policy.
